Message text: Scalable fonts in 4.x must have two different print controls!
You have created/changed a printer font that uses a scalable font and
both of its fields "Print control 1" and "Print control 2" contain the
same contents (the same print control). This is not correct for the
printer driver you are using for this release.
The system sends a warning message to the effect that problems will
occur if you try to print using this font.
Please read the field documentation for the input fields "Print control
1" and "Print control 2" to find out which contents these print
controls should have for you printer driver and then fill the fields of
the two print controls with the correct entries.
Note: If the printer type for this printer driver is compatible to
Release 3.x, the "Scalable font" attribute cannot be selected (even if
the font size is equal to 000). In addition, both print controls must
have the same contents, since the "Scalable font" attribute only exists
from Release 4.x.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

TD371
- Scalable fonts in 4.x must have two different print controls! ?The SAP error message TD371 indicates an issue related to scalable fonts in the SAP system, specifically in the context of print controls. This error typically arises when the system is trying to use scalable fonts (like TrueType fonts) in a print layout, but the configuration is not set up correctly.
Cause:
The error message TD371 occurs when:
- The scalable font being used does not have the required two different print controls defined. In SAP, scalable fonts need to have both a "normal" and a "bold" print control to function correctly.
- The font configuration in the SAP system is incomplete or incorrect, leading to the inability to render the font properly during printing.
Solution:
To resolve the TD371 error, you can follow these steps:
Check Font Configuration:
- Go to transaction code SE73 (SAPscript Font Maintenance).
- Verify that the scalable font you are using has both the normal and bold print controls defined. If not, you will need to create or modify the font settings.
Define Print Controls:
- If the print controls are missing, you can define them by:
- Selecting the font in question.
- Ensuring that both the normal and bold variants are set up correctly.
- Save your changes.
Test the Configuration:
- After making changes, test the print layout again to see if the error persists. You can do this by executing the print job that triggered the error.
Check for Updates:
- Ensure that your SAP system is up to date with the latest patches and updates, as sometimes bugs related to font handling can be resolved in newer versions.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed instructions on configuring scalable fonts and print controls.
Contact SAP Support:
- If the issue persists after following the above steps, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance.
Related Information:
By ensuring that your scalable fonts are correctly configured with the necessary print controls, you should be able to resolve the TD371 error and enable successful printing in your SAP environment.
