What causes this issue?

You want to inspect the new samples in one or all of the
inspection lot operations. No characteristic specifications have been
found for the chosen operation, or all operations (if you have not
specified the operation number).

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Check whether the inspection lot has been correctly created, and whether
characteristic specifications have been assigned.
Complete the inspection lot using the transaction <DS:TRAN.QA02>Change
inspection lot</>, if characteristic specifications have not yet been
assigned.
If an inspection plan with only inspection operations and no inspection
characteristics, was assigned to the inspection lot, you cannot create
inspection points to inspect samples for this lot. Then, choose
the radio button "Do not create inspection points".
