  • What causes this issue?

    Inspection method &v1& in plant &v2& with version &v3& is used in a
    master inspection characteristic or inspection plan, and therefore
    cannot be deleted.
    This error message can also appear when the deletion of an inspection
    method is triggered not directly, but during the distribution of the
    inspection method with ALE.
    This distribution always occurs for <ZH>all</> versions of an
    inspection method. If the distributed inspection method has more
    versions than existed before, the "excess" versions must be deleted in
    the target system. If the versions to be deleted are still in use, the
    system cannot delete these versions or save the "new" inspection
    method.

    System Response

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    Create a where-used list for the specified inspection method and delete
    the affected version. If the posting of an IDoc is canceled, you can
    subsequently post this IDoc <DS:TRAN.BD87>manually</>.
