  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: HRPBSDERECL - Messages for Pay Scale Level Increase

  • Message number: 030

  • Message text: Related absence cannot be assigned distinctly

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

In the period &V3& - &V4&, there is at least one absence linked by
indicators &V1& = &V2&, which at the same time is linked by the other
indicator with further absences. Since no distinct assignment to either
link is possible, a possible postponement of the level increase cannot
    be determined automatically.

    System Response

As the pay scale level start cannot be determined, the processing of the
    personnel number is terminated.

    How to fix this error?

Check the reclassification time and enter the desired reclassification
date in the <LS>"Next Increase"</> field (Next Incr.) of the <LS>Basic
Pay</> infotype (0008). Note that as the automatic determination of the
reclassification date for the period is then deactivated by the manual
override, you must recheck and correct the date again if necessary in
the case of a later addition (or discontinuation) of relevant absences
    during the pay scale runtime.

This error indicates that there is a conflict or ambiguity in the way absences are being processed or recorded for an employee.

    Cause:

The error can arise due to several reasons, including:

    1. Overlapping Absences: There may be multiple absence records for the same employee that overlap in dates, making it impossible for the system to assign them distinctly.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The absence types or absence management settings may not be configured correctly, leading to conflicts in how absences are processed.
    3. Data Entry Errors: Manual entry errors when recording absences can lead to inconsistencies in the data.
    4. Absence Quotas: If the employee has reached their quota for a specific type of absence, the system may not allow additional entries.

    Solution:

To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check for Overlapping Absences:

      • Review the employee's absence records to identify any overlapping entries. You can do this by checking the absence types and their respective dates.
      • If overlaps are found, you may need to adjust or delete one of the conflicting absence records.
    2. Review Configuration:

      • Ensure that the absence types and their configurations are set up correctly in the system. This includes checking the rules for absence management and ensuring that they align with your organization's policies.
    3. Correct Data Entry:

      • Verify that all absence entries are correctly entered. Look for any typos or incorrect dates that may be causing the issue.
    4. Check Absence Quotas:

      • Review the employee's absence quotas to ensure they have not exceeded their limits for the specific absence type. If they have, you may need to adjust the quotas or the absence entries accordingly.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling absence records and resolving related errors.
    6. Seek Support:

      • If the issue persists after checking the above points, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with an SAP HCM expert for further assistance.
