In the <ZK>data module Absence Times (DBFZ)</>, absence times that
overlap are to be reported.

- Overlapping of absence times in data module Absence Times (DBFZ) ?The SAP error message HRPAYDESV685 indicates that there is an issue with overlapping absence times in the data module for Absence Times (DBFZ). This error typically arises when there are conflicting entries for an employee's absence periods, meaning that two or more absence records overlap in time.
Cause:
- Overlapping Absences: The most common cause is that the absence records for an employee have been entered in such a way that they overlap. For example, if an employee has a sick leave from January 1 to January 5 and another absence from January 3 to January 7, this will trigger the error.
- Incorrect Data Entry: Manual data entry errors can lead to overlapping absence periods.
- System Configuration Issues: Sometimes, the configuration of the absence types or the way they are processed in the system can lead to overlaps being allowed or not being detected properly.
Solution:
- Review Absence Records: Check the absence records for the employee in question. Look for any overlapping dates and correct them. This can be done through the relevant infotype (e.g., Infotype 2001 for Absences).
- Adjust Dates: If you find overlapping entries, adjust the dates of one or more of the absence records to ensure that they do not overlap.
- Use Reports: Utilize SAP reports to identify overlapping absence records. Reports can help in quickly identifying which employees have overlapping absences.
- Consult Documentation: Review the SAP documentation or help files related to absence management to ensure that you are following the correct procedures for entering absence data.
