Message text: You are not permitted to create subtypes (see long text)
You tried to create a new subtype. To avoid namespace conflicts you are
not permitted to create subtypes in SAP systems.
The system prevents you from entering new subtypes.
If you need a new subtype, write an internal problem message with the
component PA-BC. Include the system, the development class, the
required subtype, and its description.
If you need a temporary subtype (for example, for test purposes), use
the subtypes 8000 to 8999 (for relationships, in other words subtypes
of infotype 1001, the values A880 to A899 and B880 to B899 are
permitted). These, however, must not be transported or delivered. For
that reason they cannot be created in Customizing clients.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- You are not permitted to create subtypes (see long text) ?The SAP error message HRBAS00DLG823 indicates that a user is attempting to create subtypes for an object (such as an infotype) but does not have the necessary permissions to do so. This is a common issue in SAP HR (Human Resources) modules, particularly when dealing with infotypes and their subtypes.
Cause:
- Authorization Issues: The user lacks the required authorization to create subtypes. This is typically controlled by authorization objects in SAP.
- Configuration Settings: The system may be configured in such a way that certain users or roles are restricted from creating subtypes.
- User Role Assignment: The user may not be assigned to the correct role that includes the necessary permissions for subtype creation.
Solution:
Check User Authorizations:
- Use transaction code SU53 immediately after the error occurs to check which authorization check failed.
- Review the user's roles and authorizations in transaction PFCG to ensure they have the necessary permissions.
Adjust Authorizations:
- If the user lacks the necessary authorizations, a security administrator or someone with the appropriate access should modify the user's roles or create a new role that includes the required authorizations.
- The relevant authorization objects to check include:
- S_TCODE: for transaction codes
- S_HR_HRT: for HR-related authorizations
- S_HR_SUBT: for subtype creation permissions
Consult with HR or Security Team:
- If you are not able to resolve the issue, consult with your HR or SAP security team to ensure that the user has the correct permissions and roles assigned.
Review Configuration:
- Check if there are any specific configuration settings in the HR module that might restrict subtype creation for certain users or roles.
Related Information:
By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of the error and implement a solution to allow the user to create subtypes as needed.
