If you need a new infotype, write an internal problem message with the

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message HRBAS00DLG822 - You are not permitted to create infotypes (see long text) ?

The SAP error message HRBAS00DLG822 indicates that a user is not permitted to create infotypes in the Human Resources (HR) module. This error typically arises due to authorization issues related to user roles and permissions.

    Cause:

    1. Authorization Issues: The user does not have the necessary authorizations to create or modify infotypes in the HR module. This can be due to missing roles or incorrect role assignments.
    2. Infotype Configuration: The infotype may be configured in such a way that it restricts certain users from creating or modifying it.
    3. User Status: The user might be in a status that does not allow them to perform certain actions, such as being locked or inactive.

    Solution:

    1. Check User Authorizations:

      • Use transaction code SU53 immediately after encountering the error to check the authorization check that failed. This will provide insight into which specific authorization object is missing.
      • Review the user's roles and profiles in transaction SU01 or PFCG to ensure they have the necessary permissions to create infotypes.
    2. Modify User Roles:

      • If the user lacks the necessary authorizations, you may need to assign additional roles or modify existing ones to include the required permissions for infotype creation.
      • Ensure that the roles assigned to the user include the necessary authorization objects, such as P_ORGIN, P_PERNR, and others relevant to HR infotypes.
    3. Consult with Security Team:

      • If you do not have the necessary access to modify roles, consult with your SAP security team or administrator to review and adjust the user's authorizations.
    4. Check Infotype Configuration:

      • Verify the configuration of the specific infotype in transaction SPRO. Ensure that there are no restrictions set that would prevent the user from creating or modifying the infotype.
    5. User Status:

      • Check the status of the user in the system. If the user is locked or inactive, they may need to be reactivated or unlocked.

    Related Information:

    • Authorization Objects: Familiarize yourself with the relevant authorization objects for HR infotypes, such as P_ORGIN (Personnel Administration) and P_PERNR (Personnel Number).
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to infotype creation and authorization.
    • Documentation: Review SAP documentation or training materials related to user authorizations in the HR module for further understanding.
