Message text: &1 &2: Finish constraint conflicts with determined finish
A constraint is set for the finish of the project element. In backward
scheduling, the system calculates the finish (latest finish) of the
project element step by step:
Actual finish of the project element (you can use the BAdI to ignore
this).
If no actual finish has been set, the system determines it from the
successor relationships of the project element.
If no actual finish was found in the previous steps, the system takes
the finish of the higher-level project element.
The system then compares the determined finish (latest finish) with the
constraint for the finish. The warning appears if the finish conflicts
with the constraint for the finish.
The system sets the finish of the constraint as the calculated finish.
Check whether the constraint for the finish is realistic.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

DPR_SHARED212
- &1 &2: Finish constraint conflicts with determined finish ?The SAP error message DPR_SHARED212 indicates that there is a conflict between a finish constraint and the determined finish date of a project or task in the Project Management module. This typically occurs when the scheduling of a task is not aligned with its constraints, such as a finish date that is either too early or too late compared to what is defined in the system.
Cause:
- Finish Constraint: The task has a finish constraint (e.g., "Must Finish On", "Finish No Later Than") that conflicts with the calculated finish date based on the task's dependencies and durations.
- Dependencies: There may be dependencies on other tasks that affect the scheduling of the task in question.
- Resource Availability: Resource constraints or unavailability may lead to a situation where the task cannot be completed by the determined finish date.
- Incorrect Dates: Manual entry of dates that do not align with the project schedule can also lead to this error.
Solution:
- Review Constraints: Check the finish constraints set for the task. If the constraints are too restrictive, consider adjusting them to allow for more flexibility.
- Adjust Task Dates: Modify the start or finish dates of the task to align with the determined finish date. This may involve changing the task duration or dependencies.
- Check Dependencies: Ensure that all predecessor and successor tasks are correctly defined and that their scheduling does not conflict with the task in question.
- Resource Allocation: Verify that the resources assigned to the task are available and that their allocation does not create scheduling conflicts.
- Recalculate Schedule: After making adjustments, recalculate the project schedule to ensure that all tasks are aligned and that there are no further conflicts.
