  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CRM_ORDER_CUST088 - Status profile '&1' does not exist for object type '&2' ?

The SAP error message CRM_ORDER_CUST088 indicates that a status profile specified for a particular object type does not exist in the system. This error typically occurs in the context of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) when trying to process an order or a related object that requires a status profile.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Status Profile: The status profile defined for the object type (e.g., sales order, service order) is not created or has been deleted.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The object type may be incorrectly configured in the system, leading to a reference to a non-existent status profile.
    3. Transport Issues: If the status profile was recently transported from another system, it may not have been included in the transport request or may not have been activated properly.

    Solution:

    1. Check Status Profile Configuration:

      • Go to the transaction code SPRO (SAP Project Reference Object).
      • Navigate to the relevant configuration path for CRM and check the status profiles defined for the object type in question.
      • Ensure that the status profile exists and is correctly assigned to the object type.
    2. Create or Modify Status Profile:

      • If the status profile does not exist, you may need to create it. This can be done in the same configuration area where you checked for existing profiles.
      • If it exists but is not correctly assigned, you may need to modify the configuration to link the correct status profile to the object type.
    3. Check Transport Requests:

      • If the status profile was supposed to be transported from another system, check the transport logs to ensure that it was included and activated in the target system.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or help resources for specific details on how to manage status profiles in CRM.
    5. Testing:

      • After making changes, test the functionality again to ensure that the error is resolved.

    Related Information:

    • Object Types: Common object types in CRM include sales orders, service orders, and activity management.
    • Status Profiles: Status profiles are used to manage the lifecycle of an object, defining various statuses that an object can have (e.g., open, in process, completed).
    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CRMD_ORDER for order management and SPRO for configuration.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis or functional team for further investigation, as they may have access to additional logs or system settings that could provide more insight into the problem.
