  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message AGR_MAINTENANCE_CHCK004 - Agreement entered in a different system and marked as deleted ?

The SAP error message AGR_MAINTENANCE_CHCK004 indicates that there is an issue with a role or authorization object that has been marked as deleted in a different system. This typically occurs in environments where multiple SAP systems are integrated, such as in a landscape with development, quality assurance, and production systems.

    Cause:

    1. Role Deletion: The role or authorization object you are trying to access has been deleted in the source system (e.g., development or quality assurance) but still exists in the target system (e.g., production).
    2. Transport Issues: If the role was deleted in one system but the deletion was not transported correctly to other systems, it can lead to inconsistencies.
    3. Cross-System Consistency: The error can also arise if there are inconsistencies between the systems regarding the roles and authorizations.

    Solution:

    1. Check Role Status: Verify the status of the role in the source system. If it has been marked as deleted, you may need to restore it or create a new role.
    2. Transport the Deletion: If the role was intentionally deleted, ensure that the deletion is transported to all relevant systems to maintain consistency.
    3. Recreate the Role: If the role is needed, you may need to recreate it in the system where the error is occurring.
    4. Use Transaction PFCG: Go to transaction PFCG (Profile Generator) and check the role in question. If it is marked as deleted, you may need to take appropriate actions based on your organization's policies.
    5. Check Authorization Objects: Ensure that any authorization objects associated with the role are also consistent across systems.
    6. Consult Basis Team: If you are unsure about the role's status or how to proceed, consult your SAP Basis team or system administrator for assistance.

    Related Information:

    • Role Management: Understanding how roles are managed in SAP is crucial. Familiarize yourself with the Profile Generator (PFCG) and how roles are transported between systems.
    • Transport Management System (TMS): Ensure that your TMS is functioning correctly to avoid inconsistencies in role management across systems.
    • Documentation: Keep documentation of role changes, deletions, and transports to track changes and avoid similar issues in the future.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the AGR_MAINTENANCE_CHCK004 error and ensure that your SAP systems remain consistent regarding roles and authorizations.
