    What causes this issue?

The specified portfolio hierarchy was supposed to be changed. However,
evaluation data exists that are dependent on the nodes of the portfolio
hierarchy. You cannot change the portfolio hierarchy in such a way that
would cause existing nodes to be removed. This is also true for
archived evaluation data. As a result, no other filter can be assigned
    to this portfolio.
Currently, there is data that is dependent on the nodes of the portfolio
hierarchy stored in the following applications:
Report data memory (value at risk)
Results database (Risk and Portfolio Analyzer)

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

You cannot assign or adjust a filter if there is dependent evaluation
data. You can delete the filter, but once it has been deleted, you can
no longer assign any filter to the portfolio hierarchy. If you do not
want this to be the case, then you have to create a new portfolio
hierarchy. If the old portfolio hierarchy is to be used just to display
saved evaluation data, then it should be deactivated (choose
    <ZK>Evaluation Control -> Portfolio Hierarchy -> Deactivate</>).

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message AFWCH_PH005 - Portfolio hierarchy & can be enhanced only, as evaluation data exists ?

The SAP error message AFWCH_PH005 indicates that you are trying to make changes to a portfolio hierarchy that cannot be modified because evaluation data already exists for that hierarchy. This typically occurs in the context of SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) or similar modules where hierarchies are used to structure portfolios of projects or investments.

    Cause:

    The error arises when:

    • You attempt to delete or modify a portfolio hierarchy node that has associated evaluation data (e.g., financial data, performance metrics).
    • The system prevents changes to ensure data integrity and consistency, as altering the hierarchy could affect the evaluation results.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can consider the following approaches:

    1. Enhance the Hierarchy: Instead of trying to delete or modify the existing hierarchy, you can enhance it by adding new nodes or attributes. This allows you to maintain the existing evaluation data while expanding the hierarchy.

    2. Check Evaluation Data: Review the evaluation data associated with the hierarchy. If the data is no longer needed, you may consider deleting or archiving it, but be cautious as this may impact reporting and analysis.

    3. Create a New Hierarchy: If significant changes are required, consider creating a new portfolio hierarchy. This allows you to start fresh without affecting existing evaluation data.

    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific instructions on handling portfolio hierarchies and evaluation data.

    5. Contact SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They can provide guidance based on your specific system configuration and requirements.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CJ20N (Project Builder) or CJI3 (Project Actual Line Items) to manage projects and portfolios.
    • Data Integrity: Understand the importance of data integrity in portfolio management and how changes can affect reporting and analytics.
    • User Roles and Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to make changes to portfolio hierarchies, as restrictions may be in place based on user roles.
