  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message XT658 - Request &1 already completely imported ?

The SAP error message XT658 "Request &1 already completely imported" typically occurs during the transport of changes between different SAP systems (e.g., from a development system to a quality assurance or production system). This message indicates that the transport request you are trying to import has already been fully imported into the target system.

    Cause:

    1. Duplicate Import Attempt: The transport request has already been processed and all its objects have been imported into the target system.
    2. Transport Logs: The transport logs may indicate that the request was successfully imported, and the system is preventing a duplicate import to maintain data integrity.
    3. Transport Directory Issues: There may be inconsistencies in the transport directory or the transport management system.

    Solution:

    1. Check Transport Logs: Review the transport logs to confirm that the request has indeed been imported. You can do this by using transaction code STMS and checking the import history.
    2. Verify Request Status: Use transaction code SE01 or SE09 to check the status of the transport request. If it shows as "Completed," you do not need to import it again.
    3. Import Only New Requests: Ensure that you are only attempting to import transport requests that have not yet been imported.
    4. Re-import if Necessary: If you believe the import was not successful or if there were issues, you may need to delete the request from the import queue and re-import it. However, be cautious with this approach as it may lead to inconsistencies.
    5. Consult Basis Team: If you are unsure or if the issue persists, consult your SAP Basis team for assistance. They can help troubleshoot the transport management system and resolve any underlying issues.

    Related Information:

    • Transport Management System (TMS): Understand how TMS works and how to manage transport requests effectively.
    • Transport Logs: Familiarize yourself with how to read and interpret transport logs to diagnose issues.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to transport requests and error messages.
