- Job & could not be deleted ?SAP Error Message: WZ389: Job & could not be deleted
Cause: This error typically occurs when you attempt to delete a background job in SAP, but the system is unable to complete the deletion. Common reasons include: The job is currently active or running. The job is locked by another user or process. Insufficient authorizations to delete the job. The job is in a status that does not allow deletion (e.g., already completed but not yet archived). System inconsistencies or database locks related to the job.
Solution: Check Job Status: Go to transaction SM37 (Job Monitoring). Enter the job name or job number. Check the status of the job. If the job is active (scheduled or running), wait for it to finish or cancel it before deleting. If the job is released or ready, you can delete it. Cancel or Stop the Job: If the job is running, try to cancel it via SM37 by selecting the job and choosing Job > Cancel Job. Wait for the job
