    The dependent workflow work items of the specified work item could not
    be deleted.
    This error message is output if the underlying work items could not be
    completely deleted when a workflow item was deleted.

    System Response

    The specified workflow work item was not deleted. The work item tree
    underlying it may have been partly deleted.

    How to fix this error?

    Check whether this is the case and if it is which parts of the tree
    have already been deleted. You may need to correct inconsistencies by
    deleting work items individually step by step.

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
