What causes this issue?

In the intermediate document there is a clear reference to the
respective inventory document item for this item. There is however a
different batch specified in the intermediate document item to that in
the inventory document item.

System Response

The system cannot update this intermediate document item.

How to fix this error?

You can specify the correct batch using the intermediate document
editor and then update the intermediate document again.
