What causes this issue?

In the intermediate document there is a clear reference to the
respective inventory document item for this item. Another stock type
is however specified in the intermediate document item than in the
inventory document item.

System Response

The system cannot update this intermediate document item.

How to fix this error?

You can specify the correct stock type using the intermediate
document editor and then update the intermediate document again.
