What causes this issue?

If you did not select at least one valid item<(>,<)> no conversion can
be started.
If you have selected several lines to get the related single articles
that should be converted into variants<(>,<)> none of them could be
considered as valid items.
Only the work item lines within your selection will be considered. You
may also have selected other lines containing items that have to be
ignored for the following reasons<(>,<)> and so cannot be converted:
Item is locked by the purchasing list
Item contains an article that already exists on the database
Item contains an article with an article category different from the
single article

System Response

Only lines containing new single articles that are not locked by the
purchasing list can be considered. The invalid lines have been removed
automatically from your selection.

How to fix this error?

Make sure that at least one valid item is part of your selection.
