The utilization of the virus scan server exceeds the predefined
threshold value in the attribute group.
The utilization is not evaluated by the system.
If the utilization is regularly too high, you should increase the number
of available virus scan servers or the number of scan instances

VSCAN010
- Virus scan server workload exceeds threshold value (&1 &3 > &2 &3) ?The SAP error message VSCAN010 indicates that the workload of the virus scan server has exceeded a predefined threshold. This typically occurs when the number of requests being processed by the virus scan server is too high, leading to performance issues or delays in processing.
Cause:
- High Volume of Requests: The virus scan server is receiving more requests than it can handle, which may be due to a large number of files being uploaded or processed at once.
- Configuration Issues: The threshold values for the virus scan server may be set too low for the current workload.
- Performance Bottlenecks: The virus scan server may be experiencing performance issues due to hardware limitations, insufficient resources, or other system constraints.
- Network Latency: Delays in network communication between the SAP system and the virus scan server can contribute to increased workload.
Solution:
- Increase Threshold Values: Review and adjust the threshold values for the virus scan server in the SAP system configuration. This can be done in transaction code
RSCONN01
or through the relevant configuration settings.- Optimize Virus Scan Server: Ensure that the virus scan server is properly configured and optimized for performance. This may include:
- Increasing hardware resources (CPU, memory).
- Ensuring that the virus scan software is up to date.
- Checking for any performance bottlenecks on the server.
- Load Balancing: If possible, distribute the workload across multiple virus scan servers to prevent any single server from becoming overloaded.
- Monitor Workload: Use monitoring tools to keep track of the workload on the virus scan server and identify peak times or patterns that may require further optimization.
- Review Network Configuration: Ensure that the network configuration is optimized to minimize latency and improve communication between the SAP system and the virus scan server.
Related Information:
By addressing the underlying causes and optimizing the configuration, you should be able to resolve the VSCAN010 error and improve the performance of the virus scan server.
