What causes this issue?

You tried to change or delete an object (for example, printer font,
printer barcode, font metrics, print control) that is not defined with
the currently edited device type but is inherited from a so-called
"Base device type".

System Response

The system does not allow changes to objects that are inherited from
base device types.

How to fix this error?

To delete or change the object, edit the base device type.

Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
