  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSH_LVLING_CONFLICTS300 - Cannot keep the relationship between Operation &1 and Operation &2 ?

The SAP error message RSH_LVLING_CONFLICTS300 indicates that there is a conflict in the relationship between two operations in a project or production order. This typically occurs in the context of scheduling and leveling operations in SAP's Project System (PS) or Production Planning (PP) modules.

    Cause:

The error arises when the system detects that the relationship between two operations (Operation &1 and Operation &2) cannot be maintained due to conflicting scheduling constraints. This can happen for several reasons, including:

    1. Overlapping Dates: The start and finish dates of the operations overlap in a way that violates the defined relationships (e.g., Finish-to-Start, Start-to-Start).
    2. Resource Constraints: The same resource is assigned to both operations, and the scheduling does not allow for simultaneous use.
    3. Incorrect Dependencies: The dependencies between operations may not be correctly defined, leading to conflicts in the scheduling logic.
    4. Capacity Issues: There may be insufficient capacity in the work center to accommodate both operations at the scheduled times.

    Solution:

To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Operation Dates: Review the start and finish dates of both operations. Ensure that they do not overlap in a way that violates the relationship.
    2. Review Dependencies: Check the dependencies between the operations. Make sure that the relationships (e.g., Finish-to-Start) are correctly defined and logical.
    3. Adjust Scheduling: If there are resource constraints, consider rescheduling one of the operations to a different time or adjusting the resources assigned to each operation.
    4. Capacity Planning: Ensure that the work center has enough capacity to handle both operations. If necessary, adjust the capacity or the scheduling of the operations.
    5. Use the Scheduling Tool: Utilize SAP's scheduling tools to analyze and resolve conflicts. The tool can help visualize the operations and their relationships, making it easier to identify issues.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may use transaction codes like CO02 (Change Production Order) or CJ20N (Project Builder) to view and modify operations.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to this error message.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation on project scheduling and production order management for best practices and guidelines on defining operation relationships.
