Message text: Rejection is not permitted; later change status is closed
The <DS:DE.PVS_RECIPE_BE_MAINT>Depend. chg statuses</> indicator has
been set in Customizing for the recipe type of the current recipe. You
can therefore only reject the change status if all succeeding change
statuses have status <LS>In process</> or <LS>Rejected</>.
There are, however, succeeding change statuses for this recipe whose
processing has already been closed. The system does not execute the
function.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
First check and edit the status of the succeeding change statuses. You
have the following options:
At least one of the succeeding change statuses has status <LS>Released
</>, <LS>Application scope restricted</>, <LS>Inactive</>, or
<LS>Obsolete</>.
You can no longer reject this change status. For this reason, you
cannot reject the change status you selected either.
At least one of the succeeding change statuses has status <LS>In
process</>. Proceed as follows:
RESET N2
Reject the change statuses in accordance with their sequence in time.
Start with the change status with the latest validity period.
Finally, reject this change status.

RMSRCP004
- Rejection is not permitted; later change status is closed ?The SAP error message RMSRCP004, which states "Rejection is not permitted; later change status is closed," typically occurs in the context of the SAP Retail Management System (RMS) or similar modules where item status management is crucial. This error indicates that an attempt is being made to reject a change or a document that has already been closed, meaning that no further modifications, including rejections, can be made.
Cause:
- Closed Status: The primary cause of this error is that the document or item you are trying to reject has already been marked as "closed." In SAP, once a document is closed, it is generally considered final, and no further changes can be made.
- Workflow Restrictions: The system may have specific workflow rules that prevent rejections or changes to items that are in a closed status.
- Data Integrity: SAP enforces data integrity rules to ensure that closed documents remain unchanged to maintain accurate records.
Solution:
- Check Document Status: Verify the status of the document or item you are trying to reject. If it is indeed closed, you will not be able to reject it. You may need to review the workflow or process that led to this status.
- Reopen Document: If it is necessary to make changes, you may need to reopen the document if your business process allows for it. This typically requires specific permissions or roles within SAP.
- Consult with SAP Administrator: If you believe that the rejection should be allowed, consult with your SAP administrator or support team. They can provide insights into the configuration and whether any adjustments can be made to allow for rejections in certain scenarios.
- Review Business Processes: Ensure that your business processes align with the system's capabilities. If rejections are a common requirement, consider reviewing the workflow to accommodate this need before closing documents.
