  • What causes this issue?

The series value, that is the legal entity and the number range number
<(>,<)> used in the digital signature for your document is invalid for
    the relevant number range number.
The system posted already documents with a different legal entity to the
    relevant number range interval.
The legal entity (e.g. company code, sales organization etc.) of the
posting does not match the legal entity of the existing postings of the
number range interval that the posting tries to access.

The system prevents the posting because it is not legal.

    How to fix this error?

To post documents to that number range interval, use only the same legal
entity for the relevant number range number for the relevant country.

    Procedure for System Administrators

    It might be necessary:
To create new separate number range intervals to assign them to relevant
    billing types, Or
To change the implementation of existing user-exits or BAdI's to
determine the number range for a posting.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
