Message text: Choose earlier archiving date for trip data due to retro acctg limit
The system uses the archiving date to calculate a default value for the
retroactive accounting limit. The retroactive accounting limit must be
before today's date because the date calculated by the system (provided
that it corresponds to the period start date) or the next period start
date is transferred to the employee's <LS>Payroll Status</> infotype
record (0003) as the earliest personal retroactive accounting limit.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Choose an archiving date far enough in the past so that the retroactive
accounting limit, which the system calculates on the basis of the
archiving date, comes before today's date.

PH061
- Choose earlier archiving date for trip data due to retro acctg limit ?The SAP error message PH061, which states "Choose earlier archiving date for trip data due to retro accounting limit," typically occurs in the context of archiving trip data in the SAP system, particularly when dealing with travel management and expense reporting.
Cause:
The error is triggered when you attempt to archive trip data that falls outside the retroactive accounting limit set in the system. The retroactive accounting limit is a configuration setting that defines how far back in time you can process or change accounting documents. Solution:
To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:
Check Retroactive Accounting Limit: Review the retroactive accounting limit settings in your SAP system. This can typically be found in the configuration settings for the relevant module (e.g., Travel Management).
Choose an Earlier Archiving Date: When prompted to choose an archiving date, select a date that is within the retroactive accounting limit. This means you should select a date that is more recent than the limit set in the system.
Adjust the Retroactive Accounting Limit: If necessary and appropriate, you may consider adjusting the retroactive accounting limit in the system configuration. However, this should be done with caution and typically requires approval from your finance or accounting department, as it can have implications for financial reporting and compliance.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed guidance on archiving processes and retroactive accounting limits.
Contact SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue through the above steps, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on your system configuration and version.
