Message text: & inactive default sets will be saved and must be activated before use
You have maintained several default sets and saved the data. However,
not all default sets have been activated . This is indicated by a yellow
light. Active default sets are shown with a green light. Faulty default
sets are shown with a red light. Sets are faulty if the activation has
failed once before. This may be caused by incorrect parameters.
If you save inactive default sets, the system will not use these sets
for the conversion process.
The system saves all sets to the database.
If you want inactive sets to be used, go back to this transaction and
activate the sets by choosing <ZK>Active single set</> or <ZK>Activate
w/o check</> or <ZK>Mass Activation</>. Note that if you use
<ZK>Activate w/o check</>, incorrect sets may be saved which lead to
quantity conversion errors when goods movements are posted.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

O3230
- & inactive default sets will be saved and must be activated before use ?The SAP error message O3230 typically indicates that there are inactive default sets in the system that need to be activated before they can be used. This message is often encountered in the context of configuration settings, particularly in modules like SAP Controlling (CO) or SAP Sales and Distribution (SD).
Cause:
- Inactive Default Sets: The error arises when you attempt to use a default set that has not been activated. Default sets are configurations that define certain parameters or settings for various processes in SAP.
- Configuration Changes: If changes have been made to the configuration but the corresponding default sets have not been activated, the system will not allow you to proceed with those settings.
- Transport Requests: Sometimes, if configurations are transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), the default sets may remain inactive until they are explicitly activated.
Solution:
Activate Default Sets:
- Navigate to the relevant configuration area in SAP where the default sets are defined.
- Look for an option to activate the default sets. This is usually found in the configuration menu under the specific module (e.g., CO, SD).
- Select the inactive default sets and activate them.
Check Configuration:
- Ensure that all necessary configurations are completed and that there are no missing steps that could lead to inactive default sets.
- Review the transport logs if the configuration was recently transported to ensure that all necessary objects were included.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help files related to the specific module you are working with for detailed steps on activating default sets.
Testing:
- After activation, perform tests to ensure that the default sets are functioning as expected and that the error message no longer appears.
