    following reasons:

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    The item was generated from a promotion.
    Only certain data (such as quantities or dates) can be changed for
    items referring to a promotion.
    Materials and plants cannot be changed, as the system has to ensure
    that the material and the plants concerned take part in the promotion.
    You therefore are not able to change the allocation rule or the plant
    groups in the item.
    The status does not allow the allocation rule to be processed.
    If follow-on documents exist for this item, any changes to the
    allocation rule do not apply tor the item.
