Message text: With partial copying, only cost element planning may be copied
You have chosen within a copy transaction a percentage for proportional
copying. The function is only available for the cost elements, activity/
price and key figure planning. You have, however, selected other
transactions (for instance from overall planning). This is not
supported.
The copy transaction cannot be carried out.
Only select transactions from cost element specific planning (or the
transaction for statistical key figures), or else choose percentage 100
(complete copying).
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

KPT3035
- With partial copying, only cost element planning may be copied ?The SAP error message KPT3035 indicates that there is an issue with the planning process in the Controlling (CO) module, specifically when trying to copy planning data. The message states: "With partial copying, only cost element planning may be copied." This typically occurs when you are attempting to copy planning data from one version to another, but the system has detected that the copying process is not set up correctly for the type of planning you are trying to perform.
Cause:
Partial Copying Restrictions: The error arises because the system is configured to allow only certain types of planning data to be copied when using the partial copying feature. In this case, it indicates that only cost element planning can be copied, and other types of planning (like activity planning, internal orders, etc.) are not allowed in the current context.
Planning Version Settings: The planning version you are trying to copy from or to may not be set up correctly to allow for the type of data you are trying to copy.
Data Structure: The structure of the data being copied may not match the expected structure for the target version or planning layout.
Solution:
Check Planning Type: Ensure that you are using the correct planning type that allows for the data you want to copy. If you are trying to copy data that is not cost element planning, you may need to adjust your approach.
Use Full Copying: If you need to copy more than just cost element planning, consider using the full copying option instead of partial copying. This will allow you to copy all relevant planning data.
Review Planning Versions: Check the settings of the planning versions involved in the copying process. Make sure that the source version has the necessary data and that the target version is configured to accept that data.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific details on the planning process and the limitations of partial copying.
Error Logs: Check the error logs for additional details that may provide more context on why the copying process failed.
Consult with SAP Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for further assistance, especially if this is a recurring issue.
