The SAP error message IW259: "No operations selected for printing. All operations selected again." typically occurs in the context of work order processing, particularly when trying to print operations related to maintenance orders or production orders. This message indicates that the system did not find any operations that meet the criteria for printing.
Causes:
- No Operations Available: The work order may not have any operations assigned to it, or the operations may not be in a status that allows them to be printed.
- Selection Criteria: The selection criteria used for printing may not match any existing operations. This could be due to filters applied in the print program.
- Status of Operations: The operations may be in a status that does not allow printing (e.g., completed, canceled).
- Configuration Issues: There may be issues with the configuration of the print program or the output type settings.
- User Authorizations: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to access the operations for printing.
Solutions:
- Check Operations: Verify that the work order has operations assigned to it. You can do this by checking the order in transaction IW32 (Change Order) or IW33 (Display Order).
- Review Selection Criteria: Ensure that the selection criteria for printing are correct. If you are using a custom report or program, check the parameters being passed.
- Check Operation Status: Make sure that the operations are in a status that allows them to be printed. If they are completed or canceled, you may need to change their status or select different operations.
- Output Type Configuration: Review the configuration of the output type in transaction NACE. Ensure that the output type is correctly set up for the order type and that the associated print program is functioning correctly.
- User Authorizations: Confirm that the user has the necessary authorizations to view and print the operations. This can be checked with your SAP security team.
- Re-select Operations: If the message indicates that all operations are selected again, try re-selecting the operations manually to see if that resolves the issue.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages
(message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.
An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
