- Valuated records cannot be edited ?The SAP error message HRPADSA187, which states "Valuated records cannot be edited," typically occurs in the context of payroll processing or when dealing with infotypes that contain valuated records in the Human Resources (HR) module. This error indicates that the system is preventing changes to certain records that have already been valuated, meaning that they have been processed and assigned a monetary value.
Cause:
- Valuated Records: The records in question have already been processed in a payroll run or have been valuated in some way, making them immutable to prevent inconsistencies in financial reporting.
- Status of the Record: The record may be in a status that does not allow editing, such as being locked for payroll processing or being part of a closed period.
- Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary permissions to edit the records.
Solution:
- Check Record Status: Verify the status of the record you are trying to edit. If it has been processed, you may need to reverse or adjust the payroll run before making changes.
- Use Correct Transaction: Ensure you are using the correct transaction code for the intended action. For example, if you need to make changes to payroll data, you might need to use a specific transaction designed for that purpose.
- Unlock Records: If the records are locked due to a payroll run, you may need to unlock them or wait until the payroll period is closed.
- Consult with HR/Payroll Team: If you are unsure about the status or the process, consult with your HR or payroll team to understand the implications of editing these records.
- Authorization Check: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to edit the records. If not, contact your system administrator to request the appropriate permissions.
