  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message GR566 - Additional set & has been changed (regenerate report group) ?

The SAP error message GR566, which states "Additional set & has been changed (regenerate report group)," typically occurs in the context of SAP reporting, particularly when dealing with report groups in the SAP system. This error indicates that there have been changes made to an additional set (such as a variant or a selection set) that is associated with a report group, and as a result, the report group needs to be regenerated to reflect these changes.

    Cause:

    1. Changes to Additional Sets: The most common cause of this error is that an additional set (like a variant or selection criteria) has been modified after the report group was created. This could include changes to the fields, values, or structure of the additional set.
    2. Inconsistent Data: If the report group is referencing an additional set that has been altered, the system recognizes that the report group is now inconsistent with the current configuration of the additional set.

    Solution:

To resolve the GR566 error, you need to regenerate the report group. Here are the steps to do this:

    1. Access the Report Group: Go to the transaction code related to the report group (e.g., SE38 for ABAP programs or the specific transaction for the report you are working with).
    2. Regenerate the Report Group:
      • Navigate to the report group that is causing the issue.
      • Look for an option to regenerate or refresh the report group. This may be found in the menu or as a button in the interface.
      • Confirm the regeneration process. This will update the report group to reflect the changes made to the additional set.
    3. Test the Report: After regenerating the report group, run the report again to ensure that the error has been resolved and that the report functions as expected.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as SE38 (for executing reports) and SE80 (for object navigator) to manage report groups and additional sets.
    • Documentation: Check SAP documentation or help files for more detailed information on managing report groups and additional sets.
    • User Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to modify and regenerate report groups in your SAP environment.
    • Consult SAP Notes: If the issue persists, consider checking SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to the GR566 error.
