  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

For you to be able to archive or approve a batch record, all
corresponding inspection lots must have been assigned the following
    statuses:
    <LS>BRRQ (Batch record required)</>
    <LS>ICCO (Inspection close completed)</>
<LS>LOLK (Lot locked for batch record)</>
Incoming inspection lots must also have the additional status <LS>UD
    (Usage decision made)</>.
At least one of these statuses is, however, missing in inspection lot
&V1& for the batch you have selected. For this reason, the system does
    not carry out the function.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Depending on what caused the error, initiate one of the following steps:
Carry out the <LS>Complete inspection</> function in the usage decision
    for inspection lot &V1&.
Lock the lot for the batch record in the usage decision for inspection
    lot &V1&.
Make the usage decision for the inspection lot &V1&.
In future, use an order type for which the <LS>Batch record required</>
indicator has been set in Customizing. The system then sets the <LS>BRRQ
(Batch record required)</> status in the order and the corresponding
inspection lot when you release the order.
You cannot correct this setting for inspection lot &V1& anymore.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message EBR504 - Inspection lot &1 does not have status "&2" (&3) ?

The SAP error message EBR504 indicates that an inspection lot does not have the expected status. This error typically arises in the context of quality management (QM) processes within SAP, particularly when trying to perform actions on an inspection lot that is not in the required status for that action.

    Cause:

The error message EBR504 can occur due to several reasons:

    1. Incorrect Status: The inspection lot may not be in the status that is required for the operation you are trying to perform. For example, if you are trying to post results or close the inspection lot, it must be in a specific status (e.g., "In Process" or "Completed").
    2. Lot Processing: The inspection lot may have already been processed or closed, and you are attempting to perform an action that is not allowed on that status.
    3. User Authorization: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to change the status of the inspection lot.
    4. System Configuration: There may be configuration settings in the quality management module that dictate the statuses and transitions of inspection lots.

    Solution:

To resolve the EBR504 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Inspection Lot Status: Use transaction code QA32 or QA03 to display the inspection lot and check its current status. Ensure that it is in the correct status for the action you are trying to perform.

    2. Review Action Requirements: Refer to the documentation or help files to understand what status is required for the action you are attempting. For example, if you are trying to record results, the lot should be in "In Process" status.

    3. Change Status: If the inspection lot is in an incorrect status, you may need to change it. This can often be done through the appropriate transaction (e.g., QA11 for closing lots, QA02 for changing lots).

    4. Check Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to perform the action on the inspection lot. If not, contact your SAP security administrator.

    5. Consult Configuration: If the issue persists, consult with your SAP QM configuration team to ensure that the status management for inspection lots is set up correctly.

    6. SAP Notes and Support: If you are still unable to resolve the issue, check for any relevant SAP Notes or reach out to SAP support for further assistance.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as QA32 (Display Inspection Lot), QA03 (Display Inspection Lot), QA11 (Record Results), and QA02 (Change Inspection Lot).
