  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CRM_BUPA_FRG0010250 - Own sales data of reference business partner cannot be deleted ?

The SAP error message CRM_BUPA_FRG0010250 indicates that the system is preventing the deletion of own sales data related to a reference business partner. This typically occurs in the context of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) when trying to delete or modify business partner data that is linked to sales transactions or other critical data.

    Cause:

The error is usually caused by one of the following reasons:

    1. Existing Sales Data: There are existing sales documents (like sales orders, quotations, etc.) associated with the business partner that prevent deletion.
    2. Reference Business Partner: The business partner you are trying to delete is a reference for other business partners, and the system does not allow deletion to maintain data integrity.
    3. Data Consistency: SAP enforces data consistency rules, and if there are dependencies or links to other data, it will block the deletion to avoid orphaned records.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check for Existing Sales Data:

      • Review the sales documents associated with the business partner. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction codes (like VA03 for sales orders) and checking if there are any open or completed documents.
      • If there are documents, you may need to delete or archive them before attempting to delete the business partner.
    2. Review Reference Relationships:

      • Check if the business partner is a reference for other business partners. If it is, you may need to change the reference settings or unlink the business partner from others before deletion.
    3. Use Transaction Codes:

      • Use transaction codes like BP (Business Partner) to manage business partner data. You can also use CRMD_ORDER to check for related sales orders.
    4. Consult with Your SAP Administrator:

      • If you are unsure about the dependencies or how to proceed, consult with your SAP administrator or a functional consultant who can provide insights into the specific configurations and data relationships in your system.
    5. Data Archiving:

      • If the data is no longer needed, consider archiving it instead of deletion, which can help maintain data integrity while removing unnecessary records.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might provide additional insights or solutions for this specific error message.
    • Documentation: Review SAP documentation related to business partner management and sales data handling for best practices.
    • Transaction Logs: If you have access, check transaction logs to see if there are any additional error messages or warnings that could provide more context.
