What causes this issue?

Because of the SAP APO System there is a restriction with respect to
the length of the item number. The SAP APO System allows item numbers
with only 6 digits, whereas 10 digits are possible in CRM Online.
This error can occur only if you use an SAP APO System as an ATP
System.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

As long as this restriction applies make sure that the item numbers of
ATP-relevant items do not exceed 6 digits.
