How To Fix CO_MES_INT026 - No routing for planned order &1; not possible to distribute to MES

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: CO_MES_INT - Integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems

  • Message number: 026

  • Message text: No routing for planned order &1; not possible to distribute to MES

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The system could not determine a
    <DS:GLOS.3528EE4BEB4D21BCE10000009B38F984>routing</> that can be used
for production of the planned order &V1&.
In order that a planned order can be distributed to an MES, there must
    be <DS:GLOS.3526C467AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>routing</> or a
    <DS:GLOS.3526C3AEAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>rate routing</> for the
material to be produced. The key of the assigned routing is filled in
the IDoc (PLNAL, PLNNR, PLNTY). In particular, SAP ME needs the routing
key for choosing the routing previously distributed as master data that
you want to be used for producing the order.

    System Response

The system terminates distribution of the planned order &V1& even
though, according to the criteria described in <DS:TRAN.DRFF>filter
maintenance</>, it is relevant for distribution to the MES.

    How to fix this error?

Check if the prerequisites for automatic determination of a routing are
    satisfied.
You have created a routing (transaction <DS:TRAN.CA01>CA01</>) or a rate
routing (transaction <DS:TRAN.CA21>CA21</>) for the material to be
    produced.
The type and the number of the routing to be used has been stored in the
    <DS:GLOS.3526C38DAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>production version</> for the
    material being produced.
The Customizing settings enable automatic routing determination. Inform
your system administrator about this if necessary.

    Procedure for System Administrators

Check the Customizing settings for automatic determination of the
    routing
    RESET N1
    .
Determine the selection ID that is used for the automatic routing
alternative selection. To do so, call the Customizing activity for the
    <DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLPKOPU5>scheduling parameters</> of planned orders.
Take a look at the scheduling settings for your plant and your order
type, if necessary, to see which selection ID has been set for detailed
scheduling or rate-based scheduling. In the standard system, the
selection ID 01 or 02 is used.
Call the IMG activity for automatic <DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLPKOPJF>routing
selection</> and check if there is an entry that matches your master
data for the selection ID determined above, the routing type (N or R),
the routing usage, and the release status. If necessary, add the missing
    entry.
For more information about the prerequisites for distributing planned
orders, see the Implementation Guide under <DS:SIMG.MES_INT_BASIC>Basic
    Settings</> for MES integration.
You can likewise influence the properties of this message in
<DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENOLPFOPJB>Customizing</> and thus suppress it (leave
the message type blank) if it is not relevant to your business process.
In this case, planned orders for which a valid routing cannot be found
    in ERP are also distributed.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CO_MES_INT026 - No routing for planned order &1; not possible to distribute to MES ?

The SAP error message CO_MES_INT026 indicates that there is no routing available for a planned order, which prevents the system from distributing the order to a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This error typically arises in the context of production planning and execution when the system attempts to send planned orders to an MES for further processing.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Routing: The most common cause of this error is that the routing for the material associated with the planned order is not defined in the system. Routing is essential as it specifies the sequence of operations required to produce a product.
    2. Incorrect Material Master Data: The material master may not be correctly set up, or the relevant production version may not be assigned.
    3. Planned Order Configuration: The planned order may not have been properly configured or may be missing necessary details.
    4. Integration Issues: There may be issues with the integration settings between SAP and the MES, leading to the inability to distribute planned orders.

    Solution:

    1. Check Routing:

      • Go to the routing transaction (e.g., CA03) and verify if a routing exists for the material in question. If it does not exist, you will need to create one.
      • Ensure that the routing is valid and active for the relevant production version.
    2. Review Material Master:

      • Check the material master data (transaction MM03) to ensure that the material is correctly set up with the necessary production version and routing information.
      • Ensure that the material type and other relevant settings are appropriate for production.
    3. Verify Planned Order:

      • Review the planned order (transaction CO41 or CO40) to ensure that all necessary details are filled in and that it is correctly configured for production.
    4. Integration Settings:

      • Check the integration settings between SAP and the MES. Ensure that the configuration for sending planned orders to the MES is correctly set up.
      • Review any middleware or interfaces that may be involved in the communication between SAP and the MES.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's internal guidelines for any specific configurations or settings that may be required for your particular setup.
    6. Testing:

      • After making the necessary changes, test the process again to ensure that the planned order can now be distributed to the MES without errors.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CA03 (Display Routing), MM03 (Display Material), CO41 (Convert Planned Order), and CO40 (Display Planned Order).
    • SAP Notes: Check for any SAP Notes related to this error message for additional guidance or patches that may address known issues.
    • User Roles and Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to view and modify routing and material master data.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the root cause of the error and implement the necessary solutions to resolve it.
