- You deleted the last EAN even though the product is GDS-relevant ?The SAP error message CI_DRAFTPRD_MESSAGE414 indicates that you have attempted to delete the last European Article Number (EAN) for a product that is relevant to the Global Data Synchronization (GDS) process. This error typically arises in the context of managing product data in SAP, particularly when dealing with master data for products that are intended for GDS compliance.
Cause:
- GDS Relevance: The product is marked as GDS-relevant, meaning it is expected to have a valid EAN for data synchronization with trading partners.
- Last EAN Deletion: You are trying to delete the last remaining EAN associated with the product. Since GDS requires at least one valid EAN for each product, the system prevents this action to maintain data integrity.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:
Reinstate the EAN: If the deletion was unintentional, you can restore the EAN that you were trying to delete. This will allow you to keep the product GDS-compliant.
Add a New EAN: If you need to change the EAN for the product, you can add a new EAN before deleting the old one. Ensure that at least one valid EAN remains associated with the product.
Change GDS Relevance: If the product is no longer intended to be GDS-relevant, you may consider changing its status. However, this should be done with caution and in accordance with your organization's data management policies.
Consult Documentation: Review your organization's guidelines on product data management and GDS compliance to ensure that you are following the correct procedures.
Contact Support: If you are unsure about the steps to take or if the issue persists, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting the SAP Help Portal for further assistance.
Related Information:
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the error and maintain compliance with GDS requirements.
