Message text: Purchasing data cannot be maintained as product group is lock-relevant
You have locked the product. Since the field Product group has been
flagged in Customizing for the Material Master as lock-relevant, this
field can no longer be maintained after the product is locked. As a
result, purchasing data can no longer be created because a product group
must be entered in order to create this data.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If it is absolutely necessary to create purchasing data, unlock the
product and maintain the field <LS>Product group</>. Then relock the
product.
Important
When a product has been locked and saved, it can be unlocked only with a
special authorization, and only if it is not used in <LS>Configuration
Management</>.

- Purchasing data cannot be maintained as product group is lock-relevant ?The SAP error message CI_DRAFTPRD_MESSAGE413 indicates that you are trying to maintain purchasing data for a product, but the product group associated with that product is locked for changes. This typically occurs in scenarios where the product group is set to be lock-relevant, meaning that certain fields or data cannot be modified while the product is in a specific state or status.
Cause:
- Product Group Locking: The product group is configured to be lock-relevant, which prevents changes to purchasing data when certain conditions are met (e.g., when the product is in a specific status).
- Status of the Product: The product may be in a status that does not allow changes to purchasing data.
- Configuration Settings: The settings in the product group configuration may restrict changes to purchasing data.
Solution:
- Check Product Group Settings: Review the configuration of the product group to determine if it is set to be lock-relevant. You may need to consult with your SAP configuration team to understand the implications of this setting.
- Change Product Status: If the product is in a status that restricts changes, you may need to change the status to allow for updates. This could involve moving the product to a different lifecycle stage.
- Unlock the Product Group: If appropriate, you may need to unlock the product group for maintenance. This should be done with caution and typically requires authorization.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling lock-relevant product groups and the implications of changing their settings.
- Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot determine the cause or solution, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance.
