Message text: Check if rate-based scheduling is appropriate -> see long text
You are attempting to set the <ZH>scheduling</> and/or <ZH>capacity
planning</> indicators for several scheduling levels. Please note the
following:
Because rough-cut, rate-based and detailed planning levels are entirely
different and production orders can only be updated on the detailed
planning level, problems may occur when calculating capacity
requirements.
If you convert a planned order into a production order, only the
detailed planning view is updated when you make changes in the
production order. In detailed planning, the capacity requirements
calculated for rate-based planning are the same as they were for the
last planning status for rate-based scheduling of the planned order.
Setting the indicators for several scheduling levels means that an
order is scheduled at each level which causes a decrease in
performance. If possible, set the indicator for only one scheduling
level.
If you want to schedule on several different levels at the same time,
you have to set the parameters for capacity planning and scheduling in
such a way that only one scheduling level is used to determine the
order basic dates.
If you already set the <ZH>scheduling</> and/or <ZH>capacity
planning</> indicators for
rate-based scheduling and now you want to set them for detailed
scheduling,
rate-based and detailed scheduling and now you want to set them only
for detailed scheduling because of poor performance,
note that all existing planned orders have to be scheduled again at a
later time.
If you would like to have universal planning for production rate
oriented production, you have the following options:
You can use the <ZH>detailed</> scheduling level only. Set the
<ZH>scheduling</> and/or <ZH>capacity planning</> indicators. Then you
can also use rate routings in scheduling.
You can use the detailed and rate-based scheduling levels. You can
determine basic order dates and remove bottlenecks by means of capacity
leveling at the rate-based scheduling level. At the detailed scheduling
level, you should only carry out capacity leveling for the basic order
dates determined by rate-based scheduling. This means you must set the
parameters for detailed scheduling in Customizing in such a way that
the basic order dates are not adjusted.

C7111
- Check if rate-based scheduling is appropriate -> see long text ?The SAP error message C7111, which states "Check if rate-based scheduling is appropriate," typically occurs in the context of production planning and scheduling within SAP. This error is related to the use of rate-based scheduling, which is a method of scheduling that considers the production rate of resources rather than just the available capacity.
Cause:
The error can arise due to several reasons, including:
Inappropriate Configuration: The configuration for rate-based scheduling may not be set up correctly in the system. This could involve settings related to production rates, resource availability, or scheduling parameters.
Material Master Data Issues: The material master data may not be correctly maintained, particularly the production rate or other relevant fields that are necessary for rate-based scheduling.
Capacity Constraints: There may be capacity constraints that prevent the system from effectively using rate-based scheduling. This could be due to insufficient resources or conflicting scheduling parameters.
Production Version Issues: The production version assigned to the material may not be compatible with rate-based scheduling.
Solution:
To resolve the C7111 error, you can take the following steps:
Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings for rate-based scheduling in the SAP system. Ensure that all necessary parameters are correctly set up.
Review Material Master Data: Check the material master data for the relevant materials. Ensure that the production rates and other scheduling-related fields are correctly maintained.
Analyze Capacity: Evaluate the capacity of the resources involved in the production process. Ensure that there are no constraints that would prevent effective scheduling.
Check Production Versions: Verify that the production versions assigned to the materials are appropriate for rate-based scheduling. If necessary, adjust the production versions.
Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation or help files for more detailed information on rate-based scheduling and the specific requirements for its implementation.
Testing: After making the necessary adjustments, test the scheduling process again to see if the error persists.
Related Information:
If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with an SAP expert or your organization's SAP support team for further assistance.
