What causes this issue?

Statistics group &v1& contains an update rule in which the field name
&v2& is used. However, this field name is not permitted. The field name
is either not in the DDIC for table &v3& or it has an inappropriate
data type.
The following data types are permitted for update rules for quantities:
DEC
FLTP
INT1
INT2
INT4
NUMC
QUAN
The data type CURR is permitted for update rules for amounts.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
