Description: An indicator in the material master record that refers to a record of planning intervals that are relevant for materials planning.
Key Concepts: Release period key is a feature in SAP Production Planning and Control (PP) that allows users to define a period of time for which a certain production order is valid. This period of time is referred to as the release period. The release period key is used to control the validity of the production order and can be used to restrict the order from being changed or deleted during the specified period. How to use it: The release period key can be set up in the PP system by going to the “Define Release Period Keys” menu option. Here, users can define the start and end dates for the release period, as well as any other parameters that need to be set. Once the release period key has been set up, it can be assigned to a production order by selecting it in the “Release Period Key” field when creating or editing a production order. Tips & Tricks: When setting up a release period key, it is important to remember that it will only be valid for the specified time frame. If changes need to be made to a production order after the release period has expired, then a new release period key must be created and assigned to the order.
