  • Description: Employee who works abroad for his or her enterprise and whose global assignment is longer than an extended business trip. The employee normally has an outline agreement with the home enterprise that contains, for example, a rehiring guarantee. The actual personnel assignment exists with the host enterprise abroad. The time difference between an extended business trip and a global assignment differs from enterprise to enterprise. As a rule, a global assignment lasts between one and five years.
