What is visible for subpackages in SAP BC-DWB-TOO-PAK - Package Tools?

SAP Term: visible for subpackages

  • Component: BC-DWB-TOO-PAK

  • Component Name: Package Tools

  • Description: Property of a package interface that facilitates internal visibility within a package hierarchy Package interfaces of subpackages are normally visible to the superpackage, but not the other way round. This means that repository objects from the superpackages are not visible to their subpackages and cannot, therefore, be used by them. The property "Visible for Subpackages" of the package interface must always be activated if the exposed repository objects of the package interface are also to be made visible to subpackages. If the package interface in question does not have an access control list, activating this property ensures that the objects are visible to the direct subpackages. Otherwise, the objects are not visible to the subpackages until the subpackage is added to the access control list. This property should only be activated for a package interface in exceptional cases.
