Message class: X4 - APO Core Interface: Interfaces for Manufacturing Orders
Message number: 221
Message text: No production version has been entered in ECC order &1
In the ECC production order &V1& (material &V2&, plant &V3&), no
production version has been entered, although the corresponding order in
SAP APO has a reference to a PPM.
The master data in the ECC order is read with the production version
transferred from SAP APO, before the order is processed further.
For the integration of production orders with SAP APO and the use of
PPMs for the orders in SAP APO, a production version must be entered in
the ECC order.
The production version is automatically entered in the production order
when a production order is created in SAP ECC, if the indicator for
selecting alternative BOMs is set in the material master to Selection by
production version or Selection only by production version.
Production version transferred from SAP APO: &V4&

X4221
- No production version has been entered in ECC order &1 ?The SAP error message X4221, which states "No production version has been entered in ECC order &1," typically occurs in the context of production orders in the SAP ECC (Enterprise Central Component) system. This error indicates that a production version has not been specified for the production order, which is necessary for the system to determine how to produce the material.
Cause:
- Missing Production Version: The production version is not assigned to the material in the material master or is not specified in the production order.
- Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings for the material or production process may not be set up correctly.
- Material Master Data: The material master may not have a valid production version defined.
- Order Type: The order type being used may not be configured to allow for production versions.
Solution:
Check Material Master:
- Go to the material master (transaction code MM03) and check if a production version is defined for the material in question.
- Ensure that the production version is correctly assigned to the relevant plant and that it is active.
Create/Assign Production Version:
- If no production version exists, you may need to create one using transaction code C202 (Create Production Version).
- Assign the production version to the material and ensure it is linked to the correct BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing.
Review Production Order:
- When creating or modifying the production order (transaction code CO01 or CO02), ensure that you specify the production version in the order.
- If the production version is not automatically populated, you may need to enter it manually.
Check Order Type Configuration:
- Review the configuration for the order type being used to ensure that it is set up to require or allow production versions.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for additional guidance on production versions and their configuration.
