What causes this issue?

The function "Switch On Readiness For Input of Totals" can only be
selected for totals and subtotals that come under columns with data
cells that are ready for input. This function is not possible for data
cells and totals cells in formula columns and columns with inverse
formulas.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
