  • What causes this issue?

You tried to create an allocation table in manual planning. In doing
so, you create the material group as a planning level. When the items
for the allocation table were created, material &V3& was added. The
material master for material &V3& includes different material group.

    System Response

The allocation table was not created.

    How to fix this error?

For planning reasons, you can assign a material group that is different
from the master data to a material in the planning hierarchy. When an
allocation table is created in manual planning, active processes such
as purchase orders and deliveries are included, resulting in
consistancy with the master data. For this reason, check the material
master data or do not run planning for material &V3&.

    Procedure for System Administrators

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WXP663 - Planned mtrl grp &1 is not the same as mtrl grp &2 for material &3 ?

Certainly! Here's a detailed explanation for the SAP error message:

    SAP Error Message:

WXP663 Planned mtrl grp &1 is not the same as mtrl grp &2 for material &3

    Meaning / Cause:

This warning message occurs when there is a mismatch between the Planned Material Group and the Material Group assigned to a material in SAP. Specifically:

    • Planned Material Group (&1): This is the material group assigned in the planning view or in the planning data.
    • Material Group (&2): This is the material group assigned in the material master record.
    • Material (&3): The material number for which the mismatch is detected.

The system expects the planned material group to be consistent with the material group defined in the material master. If these two differ, the system issues this warning to alert the user that the planning data might not be aligned with the master data.

    When does this occur?

    • During material planning or MRP runs.
    • When creating or changing planned orders or production orders.
    • When maintaining or updating material master data or planning data.
    • When integrating data from external systems or during data migration.

    Possible Causes:

    1. Data inconsistency: The planned material group was entered or maintained differently from the material group in the material master.
    2. Incorrect master data maintenance: The material group in the material master was changed but the planned material group was not updated accordingly.
    3. Customizing or configuration issues: If planned material groups are used in planning and are not synchronized with material groups.
    4. User input error: Manual entry of planned material group that does not match the material master.

    Solution / How to fix:

    1. Check the material master data:

      • Use transaction MM03 to display the material master.
      • Check the Material Group field (usually in Basic Data 1 view).
    2. Check the planned material group:

      • Review the planning data or planned order where the planned material group is maintained.
      • This might be in the MRP data or in the planned order header.
    3. Align the groups:

      • If the planned material group is incorrect, update it to match the material group in the material master.
      • If the material group in the material master is incorrect, update it accordingly (transaction MM02).
    4. Consistency check:

      • Run consistency checks or reports to identify other materials with mismatched groups.
      • Ensure that master data and planning data are synchronized.
    5. Review customizing:

      • If planned material groups are used intentionally and differ from material groups, review the business process and configuration to ensure this is supported.
