SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: WXP - Retail Planning

  • Message number: 564

  • Message text: Missing infocube for periodicity of type &2

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You want to use the SAP Business Warehouse to procure actual data in
planning scenario &V1&. You must specify the name of the info cube in
which the actual data is to be store for every storage periodicity for
planning steps for which you want to update data.
This data does not exist for periodicity &V2&.

    How to fix this error?

In maintenance for BW-specific settings for periodicity "&V2&", enter
    the infocube name.
The following are possible standard periodicities:
    <DS:DE.SPMON>M</>: Month
    <DS:DE.SPWOC>W</>: Week
    <DS:DE.SPTAG>T</>: Day
    <DS:DE.SPBUP>P</>: Posting period

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Smart SAP Assistant

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WXP564 - Missing infocube for periodicity of type &2 ?

    SAP Error Message:
WXP564 Missing infocube for periodicity of type &2

    Cause

This error occurs in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when the system tries to process or load data for a particular periodicity (time interval) but cannot find an InfoCube that corresponds to that periodicity type.

    • Periodicity refers to the time granularity of the data, such as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
    • The system expects an InfoCube designed to store data at that periodicity.
    • If the InfoCube for the specified periodicity is missing or not assigned correctly, the system raises this error.

    Typical scenarios include:

    • Planning functions or data loads where periodicity-specific InfoCubes are required.
    • Data targets or InfoProviders configured for certain periodicities but missing the corresponding InfoCube.
    • Incorrect or incomplete configuration in the planning area or InfoProvider setup.

    Solution

    1. Check the Periodicity Type in the Error Message
The placeholder &2 will be replaced by the periodicity type (e.g., DAILY, WEEKLY, MONTHLY). Identify which periodicity is causing the issue.

    2. Verify InfoCube Assignment

      • Go to the Planning Area or the relevant InfoProvider configuration.
      • Check if an InfoCube exists for the indicated periodicity.
      • If missing, create or assign the correct InfoCube for that periodicity.
    3. Create or Assign the Missing InfoCube

      • If no InfoCube exists for the required periodicity, create one with the appropriate time characteristics.
      • Assign this InfoCube in the planning area or InfoProvider settings for the corresponding periodicity.
    4. Check Time Characteristics and Master Data

      • Ensure that the time characteristics (e.g., 0CALDAY, 0CALMONTH) are correctly maintained.
      • Verify that the master data for time characteristics is consistent and complete.
    5. Transport and Activation

      • If changes are made in development, ensure they are transported and activated in the target system.
    6. Re-run the Process

      • After correcting the InfoCube assignment, re-execute the planning function or data load.

    Related Information

    • SAP Notes and Documentation:
Search SAP Support Portal for notes related to WXP564 or periodicity InfoCube issues.

    • Transaction Codes:

      • RSA1 — BW Modeling (to check InfoCubes and InfoProviders)
      • RSPLAN — Planning area maintenance
      • RSADMIN — Administration of BW objects
    • Planning Areas and Periodicity:
In BW planning, each periodicity (e.g., daily, monthly) can have a dedicated InfoCube to store data at that granularity. Missing or misconfigured InfoCubes cause errors during planning or data loads.

    • Common Periodicity Types:

      • 0CALDAY — Daily
      • 0CALWEEK — Weekly
      • 0CALMONTH — Monthly
      • 0CALQUARTER — Quarterly
      • 0CALYEAR — Yearly

    Summary

    Aspect Details
Error Missing InfoCube for periodicity type
Cause No InfoCube assigned or created for the periodicity required by the process
Solution Create/assign the correct InfoCube for the periodicity in the planning area or InfoProvider
Check Planning area settings, InfoCube existence, time characteristics

If you provide the exact periodicity type from the error message or the context (e.g., planning function, data load), I can help with more specific steps.
