What causes this issue?

You have chosen to use the merchandise category area as an additional
material limitation. You have not, however, selected the
redetermination of general material master data. General material
master data must be redetermined before merchandise categories can be
used as a limitation.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Select the redetermination of general material master data.
Delete the data you entered in the merchandise category area.
