- No destination maintained for logon to remote system ?The SAP error message WL218 "No destination maintained for logon to remote system" typically occurs when there is an issue with the configuration of the RFC (Remote Function Call) destination in the SAP system. This error indicates that the system is unable to find a valid destination to connect to a remote system, which is necessary for executing remote function calls.
Causes:
- Missing RFC Destination: The most common cause is that the RFC destination required for the connection to the remote system has not been created or is not maintained properly.
- Incorrect Configuration: The RFC destination may exist but could be incorrectly configured (e.g., wrong connection parameters, incorrect user credentials).

Solutions:
Create or Maintain RFC Destination:
- Go to transaction code SM59 (RFC Destinations).
- Check if the required RFC destination exists. If not, create a new one.
- If it exists, ensure that it is configured correctly (check the connection type, target host, system number, client, user, and password).
- Test the connection using the "Connection Test" button in SM59.
Check Authorizations:
- Ensure that the user account used for the RFC connection has the necessary authorizations to log on to the remote system.
Network Configuration:
- Verify that there are no network issues preventing the SAP system from reaching the remote system. This may involve checking firewalls, network routes, and ensuring that the remote system is up and running.
Review System Logs:
- Check the system logs (transaction code SM21) for any additional error messages that may provide more context about the issue.
