What causes this issue?

The qualifier &V1& is not supported. Therefore it is not possible to
decide which type of identifier the Article number field should
contain.

System Response

The system cannot update this intermediate document item.

How to fix this error?

You can correct the incorrect field using the intermediate document
editor and then update the intermediate document again.
