VMP_MSG107
- MBOM item quantity does not match with number of distinct instances (&1) ?The SAP error message VMP_MSG107 indicates that there is a mismatch between the quantity of a Material Bill of Materials (MBOM) item and the number of distinct instances of that item in the system. This typically occurs during the production planning or execution processes when the system expects a certain quantity of components based on the BOM configuration, but the actual instances do not match that expectation.
Cause:
- Mismatch in BOM Configuration: The quantity defined in the BOM for a specific component does not match the number of instances that are being processed or produced.
- Incorrect Production Order: The production order may have been created with incorrect quantities or references to the BOM.
- Changes in BOM: If the BOM was modified after the production order was created, it could lead to discrepancies.
- Data Entry Errors: Manual entry errors during the creation of production orders or BOMs can lead to mismatches.
- Versioning Issues: If different versions of the BOM are being used, it may lead to inconsistencies.
Solution:
- Verify BOM Configuration: Check the BOM for the material in question to ensure that the quantities are correctly defined. Make sure that the number of instances matches the expected quantity.
- Check Production Order: Review the production order to ensure that it references the correct BOM and that the quantities are accurate.
- Update BOM: If changes were made to the BOM, ensure that the production order is updated to reflect these changes.
- Recreate Production Order: If the production order is significantly out of sync with the BOM, consider deleting and recreating the production order with the correct details.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific guidance related to your system configuration.
