Message text: Hierarchy &1 does not contain any postable nodes
In the planning layout, you must decide whether planning is to be made
in a hierarchical data model or whether possibly used BW hierarchies
should only be used for the visualization of subtotals.
A hierarchical data model exists, when you want to use a BW hierarchy
with postable nodes or a BPS characteristic hierarchy in the layout.
Values can be entered to nodes of the hierarchy in exactly these cases.
BW hierarchies which contain text nodes behave analogue to a total or
subtotals. In this model, nodes with lower-level nodes such as totals
or subtotals cannot carry any own values.
However, hierarchy '&V1&' used in the package or in the planning level,
has no postable nodes, but the option for planning in a hierarchical
data model was selected in the layout.
Accessing planning with the current settings is not possible.
If planning should be executed in a hierarchical data model, then use a
BW hierarchy with postable nodes or the BPS characteristic hierachies
and set the corresponding option in the first screen of the Layout
Builder.
You can use BW hierarchies with text nodes or the usual options for
setting totals or subtotals (in the third screen of the Layout Builder
or interactive in planning) for the visualization of totals. Therefore,
the corresponding option is to be set in the first screen of the Layout
Builder.

- Hierarchy &1 does not contain any postable nodes ?The SAP error message UPP_PP_K059, which states "Hierarchy &1 does not contain any postable nodes," typically occurs in the context of SAP's Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) or similar modules where hierarchies are used for reporting and analysis. This error indicates that the specified hierarchy does not have any nodes that can be used for posting transactions.
Cause:
- Empty Hierarchy: The hierarchy specified in the error message does not contain any valid nodes that can be used for posting. This could happen if the hierarchy was not properly set up or if all nodes have been marked as non-postable.
- Incorrect Hierarchy Assignment: The hierarchy might not be correctly assigned to the relevant master data or transaction data.
- Data Deletion: Nodes that were previously postable may have been deleted or marked as non-postable in the system.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the settings related to the hierarchy in the SAP system.
Solution:
Check Hierarchy Configuration:
- Go to the hierarchy maintenance transaction (e.g., KAH1 for creating a hierarchy or KAH2 for changing it).
- Verify that the hierarchy specified in the error message contains valid nodes and that these nodes are marked as postable.
Review Node Settings:
- Ensure that the nodes within the hierarchy are set up correctly and are marked as postable. You can check this in the hierarchy maintenance screen.
Reassign Hierarchy:
- If the hierarchy is not correctly assigned to the relevant master data, reassign it as necessary.
Data Consistency Check:
- Run consistency checks to ensure that the hierarchy and its nodes are correctly linked to the relevant data.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or help resources for specific details on how to manage hierarchies in your version of SAP.
Contact Support:
- If the issue persists after checking the above points, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting SAP Notes for any known issues related to this error.
