This error typically arises in the context of SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) when there is a mismatch or missing configuration related to key figures and their associated units.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Unit Definition: The key figure you are trying to use is defined to require a unit of measure (UoM), but the characteristic that should provide this unit is not properly defined or is missing.

      • Make sure that the characteristic is included in the relevant planning area.
    3. Review Data Entry:

      • If you are entering data manually, ensure that you are providing the required unit of measure for the key figure.
      • Check for any data entry errors that might lead to the absence of the required unit.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review the SAP documentation for your specific version of IBP or APO to understand the requirements for key figures and units of measure.
    5. Testing:

      • After making the necessary changes, test the configuration by trying to execute the planning function or transaction again to see if the error persists.
